A charge code simply tells the banks involved who will pay those fees.<\/span><\/p><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">When does this apply?<\/span><\/strong><br \/><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Charge codes are used whenever money is sent overseas through the international banking system (such as via the SWIFT network). Because the payment may pass through multiple banks, fees can be charged at different stages.<\/span><\/p><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">What are the options?<\/span><\/strong><br \/><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">There are three standard charge codes:<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">OUR \u2013 The sender pays all fees. The recipient receives the full amount.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">SHA (Shared) \u2013 Fees are shared.
