{"id":377,"date":"2022-02-25T17:26:00","date_gmt":"2022-02-25T17:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/finseta.com\/?p=377"},"modified":"2022-08-08T10:18:05","modified_gmt":"2022-08-08T09:18:05","slug":"the-friday-update-feb-25-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/finseta.com\/ae-en\/the-friday-update-feb-25-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Russia invades Ukraine!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This week has been dominated by the news coming out of Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Key markets took an initial hit first thing yesterday morning but started to recover over the course of yesterday and this morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The<a href=\"https:\/\/finseta.com\/knowledge-hub\/currencies\/pound-sterling\/\"> Pound<\/a> has taken a hit against the <a href=\"https:\/\/finseta.com\/knowledge-hub\/currencies\/us-dollar\/\">Dollar<\/a> over the course of the last couple of days, something ?expected given the two countries&#8217; different geographical distances between the conflict zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Against the Euro, the Pound has remained relatively stable despite the turmoil in Eastern Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Russian Ruble incidentally hit an all-time low yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last night Western Government\u2019s announced one after another, a raft of economic sanctions against the Russian Federation. It will take a bit of time to dissect the ins and outs of these and what they will mean.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A key figure from yesterday was that oil hit the $100 a barrel mark. It came back down after it emerged the Russian energy industry wasn\u2019t likely to be sanctioned, but this option remains on the table.
